Mike:
That is some type of peacock I'm sure. I'll call Kisskiss girl & have her check it out - maybe she can tell you exactly what kind.

My guess is that it is a Pseudotropheus/Labidochroms mix. It is definatly not a peacock. The head shapes are not the same. I actually have one that looks like that. He is my king of the tank. He was the first African that I got. I can't part with him even though he is a mix. Looks healthy, but I caution you that most Pseud. can be more agressive.

That's what I get for calling her. Definately not a peacock? She didn't even give me a "good guess, but..." did she?
Oh well - that's why I ask her everything, too.
By the way...I've moved this post to the fish identification section.

no way, didn't win it. Oddly enough I'm mpp on eBay too, I guess it's a benefit of being an early joiner when I had much more free time on my hands. So would anyone like to have that cichlid? KissKiss? I went and picked him up but the tank she had him in is filthy and I couldn't in good conscience put him back in there, so he's getting ready to go into a 20 high which really isn't enough space for him but it's the only clean tank I can use right now. Any takers?

If kissKiss doesn't want him...I may have someone who'll take him.
How big is he & how much would you want for him?

Ok. I have some neighbors with a 72 bow. They have smaller/more juvenile fish but they're getting close to 4".
$2.50 is fair - I'll let them know and point them toward the pics.

I am going to agree with Haley for the most part on the ID. Definitely a hybrid...my guess is Metriaclima/Labidochromis cross.

I agree that it is a hybrid also, possibly pseudotropheus kenyi or zebra type/labidochromis.
