I managed to get just a few pics of some of my bee shrimp that I finally moved from the 5.5 gallon to a 10 gallon. I really do NOT like the gravel that's in the tank, but that's what I had on hand. The shrimp don't show up very well against the gravel. The only other things in the tank is Java moss tied on onto three small pieces of Malaysian driftwood. There is currently no filter in the tank. The water is a 50/50 mix of tap water and RO water. IN the pics, you can see my few remaining RCS (red cherry shrimp) shrimplets. The bee shrimp in the pics are about 1/2 an inch long. I'm still getting the hang on this camera, so don't be so critical. lol

Nice ARB.

Cool little shrimp. And your java moss is looking good. I still can't keep that stuff healthy in my warm discus water.

clunk, the shrimp do equally well over sand or gravel. It's just that I hate the color of the gravel. I'm not keen on gravel in general. I would like to get more Eco-Complete or ADA soil or something to that effect. In my experience, shrimp do very well over a very dark (black for example) substrate. It seems to make them comfortable and brings out their colors. With these shrimp because they are so sensitive to water quality, they also need something that is inert.

MelonHead, thank you for the compliment. I seem to only be able to grow it successfully in this tank. I had it in tap water with two male bettas, and all it did was grow string algae, and then it eventually died. In this tank, it grow VERY well. In fact, I am doing another trimming today.
