Exactly my point, Mike. You have some of the most expensive, beautiful fish I have seen. With you being a friend of mine, I do not want to be the guy talking to you after your heater stuck on and cooked your fish overnight. It usually doesn't happen....

but it can. Shocked

LOL, I hope not. But I think you talked me into it.

Hey Andrew, can I borrow another heater?

You know what I think is cool? You're both very advanced aquarists yet a little opposed on this issue. All one has to do is look at your tanks and your fish and one knows both of you are keeping fish at the expert level. The reason I think it's cool is because we have pretty strong opinions (yeah, me too, guilty as charged) AND those opinions are based on success and experience. I encourage healthy debate on the finer points of fishkeeping and I truly think that this discussion was a healthy debate. Sorry about the "don't yell at me" remark, it was tongue in cheek and meant as a joke. You guys have great tanks and great fish and do the hobby credit.
all the best

Speaking of a healthy debate, I was on a different fish board today and someone was actually suggesting cycling with fish. It was all I could do to not chime in and chastise them. I was mad.

LOL Mike No problems. I have seen some very heated arguements on some forums before, Not my point to ever start 1 but I will hold my head between my tail on this 1. At least for my 240 gallon. Not changing my ways on my 125 tho. Now just to find that extra heater

Alot of people do that now. I've heard of it happening more for aggressive tanks. They use smaller fish that will get eaten as feeders later down the road. I havent done it myself but it does happen

Can I ask why you shouldn't? I had a very reputable local fish person tell me to burry a dead fish under the gravel to cycle a tank. (I didn't do it)

No problem IMO. I just started my tank up the normal way. I did try some Bio-Spiria and then setting up the other tanks I used rocks and filter media that was already good to go and it seemed to work out just fine for me.

But like I said eariler. I've heard of several people using them. Sorry

All of my "feeder" fish are cheap, because they all have something wrong with them already.(stunted, ect.) I think that it was a good article, but I always tell my customers that same info in beginners terms. If they choose to stock their tank against my advise, I don't repalce their fish when they come back crying to me, because they didn't want to look at an empty tank for a month. Good info, but I think that it was written by Fish Rights Activists. HeeHee... Oh, a new club we could start? LoL

Haley

I thought that maybe you guys new something secret that I didn't know about feeders. Thanks for the info.

Hopefully, you can come in on Sat. and we can talk about tanks. I have all of the tanks on sale thru July. 120g, 125g, 180g. 40%off I think. We are passing that onto the customers this month.

Haley

How much are the black 125's running now? Standard tank not drilled, are they All-Glass?

Thanks

Mike
