Post subject: Ranks - Holy Schnikies!!!
This kind of stinks...but the reason for it is AWESOME!
Since we're on the grow...we're already outgrowing our ranks. (Yeah I know that someone here told me so)
Anyway - I'm going to have to re-think the post numbers.
What's your opinion?
Should I change the numbers now...or should we have some fun with it? Like for instance...
How about I let the numbers stay as-is for now & we make it a contest? The first three people to max out the rank system receive a special one-time only rank that they and they alone get to keep forever...then I reset the numbers.
Granted there will be rules...similar to my "advertising rules." You need to converse - start new topics...actually interface...not just say "nice fish!" 300 times to win.
A special honor for the three who helped get us off the dround maybe? (Obviously moderators & I aren't eligible)
What's your opinion?
(This post inspired by Michael B - who has already attained the rank of Board Mbuna...and he may not be alone - I'm not sure)
Way to go Mike...
And thanks to all you regulars. We have a GREAT core group here. Wait till you see what's in store in the future...stay tuned!

Sounds great to me. I love to win, but there are others with the same rank status already
I vote to keep it the same for now

Vote counted.
Anyone else?
I'm off to bed. HORRIBLE day. I'll post why later this week.
For now let's just say that West Texas sucks! Sorry to anyone who might be from there, but....well...ummm...
...it really really does.
See you tomorrow fish-heads.

I moved from Texas just over 2 years ago. I didn't care for it. My wife was stationed there. It was the Arm-pit of Texas, Wichita Falls

I think that this is a good idea. After so many reach the limit, you may consider changing numbers slightly. But I think that would be a really cool idea.

Ooooh. I've been there. Yeah - not the nicest town.
I was in Abilene. Just got back today. Soooo glad to be home. Abilene really isn't that bad, but I was projecting my frustration that day on my surroundings.
My overall negative grumpy tone in my original post was about flight delays, lost luggage, and sweating like a hog as I WALKED through Abilene at night looking for a WalMart (which I never found) so I would have clothes for my morning meeting.
Luckily, I bought some medicine (6 pack of Rolling Rock) at a gas station that made me feel a bit better.
After that it was a great meeting though.

I'm not fond of Texas either. I was stationed at Lackland (San Antonio) for language school vice Moterrey California (like that sneaky low-down recruiter said) and then from there to Goodfellow for another year for tech school, and then another 3 years in San Antonio again from 97-2000 while I was doing the Inspector General thing. Too darn hot for my liking!
I like the idea of more ranks... but we're going to have to tie Mike B's fingers together so he can't type and obviate the new plan LOL

Yeah, I was at Lackland, too. I will say that it was MUCH better than Germany! I'd rather have a TI yelling in my face for 6 weeks than 8 months out of the year of COLD for 3.5 years.

Ok.
That's what we're doing. Moderators and I are ineligible.
The first THREE people to get to 351 posts and max out our initial rank system get a special rank forever...then we reste the whole system with different ranks, higher requirement numbers, graphics, the whole bit.
The question is...what should we call the SPECIAL rank?
It should have something to do with being one of the original members that helped us get off the ground. Something that designates you were here contributing from the beginning.
IDEAS??
Once we get the name, I'll post this as a seperate announcement & we're off.

how about the rank of master fishkeeper or breeder, i think that would be an awesome rank. and then have a hall of fame section for the first 3 and then fill it up as we go.

Suggestion noted. Let's remember...
Those three will get a special rank that no one else ever gets...so we need it to be something cool.
Any others?

How about Great White Shark, supreme predator? I'd also like to think that the top poster needs to remain active in order to keep the title. If a member was to leave, then perhaps the top rank could be reassigned.

Sounds fair to me. But I have no suggestions yet. I'm sure I'll think of something
