Ok...here's one I never saw before until very recently.

I had a female guppy (since deceased) who developed white film over both eyes. It got to th point where you couldn't see the dark parts very well at all anymore.

You could tell that she had some up-close vision, but couldn't see very well.

None of the other fish got anything like it. Any idea what that could have been?

I had the same problem with a black molly, it started out as fungus on her body and then went for her eyes. i treated her with esha 2000 and it worked but the second time it came back it was awfull she died.

As far as i know its just called fungus there could be another name for it im not sure.

I can't say for sure without seeing the fish, but my guess is that it was probably popeye. Sometimes with Cichlids, they rub on the rocks/decorations in the tank and can scratch their eye and it will look white and filmy. Treatment for this always depends on what else you have in the tank. Some meds are not safe for crustations and plants so always read meds carefully before adding them to your tank.

I doubt it was popeye, unless the eye was actually protruding. Even then, popeye is usually a secondary infection. I had an angelfish who came down with a similar thing. She had a white spot in her eye that eventually spread outward to cover most of the eye(no other visible signs of illness). The whiteness appeared to be under the eye lense itself and got thicker/whiter over the next month. I did a bunch of research and found that it was likely due to either eye flukes or worms in the eye. I originally thought it was a bacterial or fungal infection, but none of the meds I tried worked. I didn't even consider that it might be parasitic in nature...... my poor angel. By the time I discovered that it was, she was dead. This disease took over a month to kill her, bacterial or fungal infections of the eye spread/kill quickly in comparison. Fungal/Bacterial eye infections can look similar, so treat with an all encompassing medication. Here are two of my favorite disease charts that I refer to:
