Thought I would say hi since I just registered after reading for a few weeks.

After being out of the hobby for 10 years I picked up a friend's 46 gallon bowfront to try to do a planted tank. I have some German Blue Rams and just picked up some very nice Boesmani Rainbows among other things.

Here is my tank about 2 weeks ago right before I added a DIY CO2 setup. The plants have really taken off since then. I will get some better pictures if I remember tonight.

Current inhabitants:
3 German Blue Rams (Laying eggs every 9 days)
4 Boesmani Rainbows
4 Rummynose Tetras (adding a couple more soon)
4 White Cloud Minnows
4 Corydoras (emerald and sterba)
4 White Clouds
1 Rubberlip Pleco 3"
100000 Ramshorn snails until I find a healthy Yoyo or Zebra loach

i personaly would not go for clown loach as the tank is not big enough for a shoal of clowns as i personaly believe you should have at least 5 clowns to see them in there glory, which you then need to house them in at least a 90 (u.k.) gal tank

I'd agree. Clown Loaches are cool fish, but big - ay 7" or so each you would need a bigger tank.

Nice pics!

Yeah clown loaches would be way too big eventually. Petsmart had some botia stratia but one was dead and another sick, I'll wait for the next batch.

Here is my tank now. I will eventually have to pull that amazon sword once it fills up the whole thing but its still pretty small. I will probably replace with a melon or some other sword that doesn't turn into a huge bush.

German Blue Rams, they just dropped some more eggs this morning on the big piece of driftwood, not in a place I can grab them though.

OK these rainbows won't stop moving, I had to take 100 pictures to get these couple. In the morning they are a deep purple and orange, then as the day goes by they are more light blue and yellow until I feed them.

My new DIY CO2 system which is working better than I expected. I'm getting 20 ppm out of these right now plus the ladder, once I build a diffuser it should be at least 25.

I just got a Python - which is awesome by the way and cuts my 50% water change from an hour down to 10 minutes tops - it is hilarious when the cats chase things in circles through this thing.

I think loacheman has some of these dwarf botias for sale. you might check with him to see if the ones he has are indeed the ones clunkster is recommending. Hit the memberlist and drop him a note. Kevin (loacheman) lives down in Lincoln and has a nice fishroom.
