Too bad this is happening. I love these fish. My parents had one in their saltwater tank when I was a weee little child. I always though they were really cool, and were pretty mean fish. I guess the oceans are suseptable to the same problem that the rivers and lakes have with aquarium fish.

Why oh why do people think its ok to release non native fish in to their local waters

Ohhh, it's not as bad as what is taking over in the Mediterranean. Out there, there is a species of Calurpa Taxofolia (check the spelling I'm too lazy to check it out because I'll be late for work ), but this species of plant is VERY fast growing (don't quote me but I do believe it repiclates via asexual reproduction) and can release heavy toxins into the water that basically chokes out the real coral. It grows at epic proportions and because of its high toxicity the native algae eaters i.e. the urchins and tangs and such won't even touch it. It was traced back to germany where it was picked out for its hardiness in salt tanks where it is now spreading over the ocean i.e. U.S. Asian and such through the passage of huge tanker ships because just current alone would be able to let it cross the vast oceans itself. I'll try and get links later, maybe even a link to the PBS Nova series about it. Have to run to work then class though. Take it easy guys .
