I'm not sure what the goal of the forum is or if this forumup.org makes you pay based on bandwith or members but there are a ton of easy things you can do to increase traffic/new members.

I guess my question is, are you wanting more users/traffic to the site, are you intending to draw more people here from not just Omaha? Definitely having more Omaha people would make a nice trading community for freshwater (which I would especially like for plants). If you are going for a more broad scope it seems like there are 800 forums out there already.

Is there a long term plan at all like moving to a dedicated host with a real domain name attached? Or is the cost what is keeping this from happening? Are there any plans for using ads or referral links to counteract that?

Just curious, I was redoing some meta tags for one of my websites because the ranking was falling due to whatever and thought of this place. If you search for "Omaha Aquarium Forum" you will not see anything but it is easy to make this place be the #1 spot for all of that or even just general searches for content in posts you already have.

I'm all ears. Talk to me in detail via PM or here. I know a good deal about promotion etc. but really haven't done it because of time. I love the fact that we have a lot of local people, but don't know if I necessarily want to limit things to that - some of our best posters are from out of state & out of the country.

That being said I would LOVE to set up some local buying groups etc.
