This may take a while - but hopefully you'll all find it interesting.

I've been snapping pics of my angels spawn of 10-23-06 several times a week to document their progress. These guys were all artificially hatched. Their parents are now parenting - just not really well - very low spawn size. But as you'll see below - the artificial spawn was pretty big. I have no way of accurately estimate - but I'd say I have about 300+

Anyway - here you go...

The day after the spawn...

Wigglers - three days after spawn...

And four days after the spawn...

8 Days after spawn - looking creepy...

Two weeks old - looking like fish but not like angels yet...

At Twenty Days...

Starting to show some color differences...

Starting to look like Angelfish - just shy of four weeks...

And now - my little guys at five weeks - looking like fully formed tiny little angels. The only thing that is different on them than on an adult (other than size) is that there is still a translucency to them - but otherwise they're angels...

This has really been cool. I'm looking forward to many more spawns from these guys.

Pretty neat looking little ones. I like their age process you have shared.

Thanks

(Ignoring Clunkster)

Here are a few from today. Still haven't moved them all - but right now I have 240 moved from the fry tub to the 55g - with at least 50 more to move.

And as you can see - a new hatch on the way.

Brothers & sisters to be with some curious onlookers...

And a video...

Yeah - I filled a 55g before smoothing out the background. Pretty bright, huh?

So...anyone need say 50 or 60 angelfish?? Shocked

Nope - that's their normal activity level prior to feeding.

Great post. Thanks for the time lapse photos of your fishes incubation to youth. I learned a lot from this. We have to keep posting stuff like this. I have never come across anything as thorough as this on the internet.

Thanks Parrotlover.

Bummer today though. I was incubating another spawn of that same size - and woke up to all but about 10 of the eggs white. Nowhere near that last night. I can't figure it out. 85% at least were brown & looked ready to hatch last night.

I think I had way too little meth blue in there - or didn't change the "egg water" enough. Damn. Not a good day of fish keeping for me.

There's always tomorrow.
