Post subject: yellow threadfin rainbow fish help needed
does anyone know anything about these. i picked them up in a local supermarket style pet store. this store at the end of each week puts all the fish that havnt sold in one tank at 50p each!! these 3 were in there so i grabbed them. they are very small (about 1 inch) and are all very colourful.they are getting on well in my tank as there are only rasboras and pencils in there. but i know absolutley nothing about them.

Wow, what a bargain! That's less than what it costs for half a pint (at least when I left). I'd be checking that tank for pleco's! There was no such store anywhere close to where I was living in Suffolk, well at least at the time I was there (1983-87 and again in 2000-04).

yes it was that shop. most fish keepers i know boycott it as rubbish, but in my situation i have no choice. with no transport of my own and a friend who will not go out of her way to the fish shops i have to take what i can get. there is a local shop that is a 1/2hour walk each way from the bus stop, only one bus a week (and i mean 1 bus with a 2 hour turnaround!), and all the fish shops tucked out of the way in the middle of nowhere as they tend to be. i am limited. however in the past i have been lucky with pets at home and the one at kings lynn does seem to go out of its way to acquire fish other usual ones.

My wife and I would drive up to Kings Lynn from Beck Row, near Mildenhall, every month or so to check out all the antique shops and there was a big warehouse chock full of items. I don't remember the name of the place at the moment but my car knew the way LOL. It had a lot of what you would call rubbish but sometimes, we found some neat things. Then just outside Kings Lynn there was a road that had quite a few antique shops on it, spread out along the road for about a couple of miles. It was just a way to spend an enjoyable day for us.
best regards
