I need a male L183 of breeding size to go with my female. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I got 1 adult female recently. I wish I was lucky enough to pick up a group of L183 adults. I have 1 left of the 7 fry I got a year ago. Its still too small to spawn and I don't want to wait for it to get big enough to spawn.

Have you thought about trying the MCA Auction 14 January, or is it to far away for you to attend ?

Nevermind. My L183 died last night. I had her for about 2 months and she looked fine. Even today when I took her out of the tank, she looked good. All of her color, flat belly (not sunken). I'm really bummed about it.

Thanks argnars. With the way I lose my L183s. I should stop trying to keep them entirely and go with what does the best, hypancistrus. I should look into getting some zebras. All of my hypans thrive in my tanks. All the other plecs don't.

Thanks clunk. I lost a sterbai and an adolfoi recently too. And the new L031 passed also. Sometimes it can be a little frustrating. The adolfoi had faded colors when I got it, but it was happy and lived for 2 or 3 months. I think it was old. The sterbai developed a hunchback. Don't know why or how either. It may have been old also. Maybe the L183 was old too?

Sometimes it is hard to determin what the cause of death is, especialy if there are no visible signs of diseases or wounds, and not every body is up to a postmortem Shocked
