What are you opnions on heaters. I have a 55 gallon that i am heating. What is the best heater to use. I currently have a marineland visitherm stealf heater 200 watt. what bothers me about this is that there is no indicator light. Is that a problem?? I did have one of the same brand that died on me.

Is it best to have two? in a tank?

What are your thoughts?

I've used visi therm but didn't have the stealth models (older versions) and overall I was quite pleased with them. I know they're a little more expensive, but I highly recommend the Ebo Jager heaters. They're ultra reliable and last for at least a decade whereas some of the others don't seem to last as long. I don't like the Marineland two-setting models, can't recall what they're called off hand. For my larger tanks, the 75, 125, & 180 I use two heaters and also keep spares on hand like Clunkster. For the smaller tanks, including the three 55's, and the 65 I only use one heater.
