Post subject: East Coast Hello
Have posted a bit and thought I probably should have said hello first.
My name is Janet and I am an artist. I recently moved to Pennsylvania. Fish have often been a favorite subject for me to paint. Being from the Great Lakes area, I normally concentrate on freshwater species.

Welcome to the Topical Tropical family. I hope you enjoy your stay here. Do you have any photos to share of some of your work?
Thanks
Mike

It occurred to me as I was looking at some of my fish art, that alot were taken pre digital camera -- ie, no preview, thus the quality is not great. Geez. Why does that make me feel old all of a sudden.
I take license and do not do every scale. Started out painting on furniture/or anything wood.

These are the kinds of fish I really like to do. My first store window done on 4x8 sheets of plexiglas.

Since moving I have been doing fish with images on them. As I had mentioned, it occurred to me that patterns on some fish look like abstract art. I just took it further.

I would keep fish about as well as I keep plants. Have moved around alot, so it was never a hobby I felt was particularly portable. Have always been fascinated by the colors and uniqueness of tropical fish.

Hi Janet,
Welcome to the board. I am very new myself. I'm sure I'm not the first one to ask you to please post some of your paintings! That would be wonderful. What fish do you keep and which do you enjoy to paint the most? Welcome again, Peggy

We were in De Pere for 14 years. My husband retired from the Coast Guard and worked Point Beach. Small world.

I called Fond du Lac home as a boy. We relocated there when I was nine after my dad retired from the Army.
