Was working in the fish room tonight and thought I might share a few shoddy pics.

Archocentrus sp. "Sajica" growing up.

The longfin browns from the MCA auction in January getting bigger.

a "few" more baby ABN's--out of the cave four days now.

Those "hey, stop picking on my other fish" albino Kribs

Some of Gary's baby angels alongside a mature pair of double dark blacks and a huge Mad Lace

The 125--I rewired some lights (finally!) and added them to the 125. I figured that it'd be nice to keep all those beautiful crypts and anubias that I got from Stuart, healthy.

Set up and cycled a new 55 in the fish room... mostly for plecos.

And something for Gary....
recognize the tail?

best regards
mike

I thought I'd give 'em a try on a whim. I also like the fully colored kribs better now that I've had these for a year, the taeniatus are spectacular.
all the best

I go pretty slow and keep the business end close to but not in the sand. I still get some sand in the python but I'm careful and use the shut off valve liberally.

Hi Funky,
Sunset Hygro. It isn't permitted to ship to some states as it is classified as an invasive species (thanks no doubt to some silly junior fishkeeper). If it's permitted in your State, I'd be happy to send some clippings your way if you cover the shipping (I think about 5 bucks priority).

Actually it is classified as a Federal noxious weed. Illegal to ship across state lines.

We lost power for a while today (about 5 hours). If you've ever wondered about the impact of not having filtration....here ya go.

Ten days out of the cave and I came close to losing the whole batch. I did a quick water change once I could see and they're settling back to the bottom of the tank again. Talk about worried! These guys only do that when water quality worsens, well, at least in my experience.

regards
mike

Allen,
No worries, I'll save you some clippings.
Funky,
I'd really love to help out but I gotta abide by these rules. I've seen firsthand what disregard for rules like these can do to an environment.
sorry mate

Sadly, most of my baby ABN's did not make it despite the water changes. I think I'm going to have to change set-ups from the 20H to a 29 just to add additional water volume to prevent another occurence. The 20H is fine for mom and dad, but when you add another 100 or so babies, the bioload is just too immense which was responsible IMHO for the ammonia spike. I had to siphon the poor little casualties out yesterday. Very sad.
