Post subject: Used filters?
Hey all-
I'm looking for any good condition used filter that can do between 200 & 400 gph...preferably a canister.
I saw Mike's post and that would be a great one, but here's the rub - I have to go cheap. Anyone have (or know of someone who has) any unused filters laying around?
Much appreciated!

For a used one?
No clue really. Just need to keep the expenditure low. I see canisters 200+ gph occasionally for $60 on up...but then there's shipping. Yours looks great, just can't swing the price right now.

I have an Emperor 400 I don't need. It's no canister though, make me an offer or I will trade for something cool like a zebra pleco.

Emperor might work. I'm willing to buy, trade, or a combination of both.
Don't have any zebras. I do have a butt-load of very cool angels...and three nice mature BN plecs which i know you've thought about. Any of that sound interesting? If not, maybe I can buy it outright.

I would go for the Angels but in one tank would be a shrimp massacre and the other my Endlers would not enjoy very much.
Will bristlenose be ok in around 6.0 pH? Not sure if they will uproot plants or not since I have lots of weird stems. I'm right in the middle of the cycle with 5+ nitrites so they would have to wait. These get to 5" right? I don't know if I want 3...
If you want it right away how about $20. Oh and I have lots of Jungle Val again if you still need more.

Argnars
They would be OK in PH that low but you would want to drip them in. Mine are raised in 6.8-7.0 ph. I'm not sure what Gary's Discus tank is at but I'm sure it's lower in PH than mine and I think that's where he has his bushynose

argnars -
My BN are at 7.6 - i don't over buffer my water - but I'm sure they'd adjust fine. They dont uproot much at all.
And the val...definately! Call me when you get a break. I'll PM you my number in case you didn't save it. Thanks!

If you're going to acclimate those bushies from 7.6 down to 6.0, go very slow on the drip as in a couple of hours at least.
good luck

Argnars - thanks for the Penguin & the val. I'm psyched about both. Both awesome values & quality stuff.
Everyone else - if you have the opportunity to buy plants from Argnars - do it...great healthy plants @ reasonable prices.

I'll let you know when I have enough to split up again. Usually takes a month or so.

I remember reading that vals all get their carbon from the water, I am guessing since I do big water changes weekly that it helps. Plus I add plenty of potassium to this tank and feed heavily.
I did have CO2 on the tank until last week. They aren't looking like they will grow as good since I took it off, I may just stick with 1 2-liter for a while.
