Post subject: Who fed my Oscar Miracle Grow?
I swear someone's fertilizing him...
The day I got him at about 1"
After one week...
After two weeks...
Tonight - after three weeks...
He's right at three inches and eating whatever he can fit in his mouth at this point. He spits gravel & I swear there are less snails in there than there were. At any rate, I sure am enjoying the experience.
A fine example of why one should start with a large tank for an oscar.

He's by himself.
He eats like a monster already. I need to start making him eat more Cichlid Gold pellets. I've been spoiling him with frozen bloodworms, frozen brine, and some krill. So he only eats one or two pellets before he snubs them. Gonna have to be a hardass & let him go hungry until he statrs eating them. That should only take like half a day.
I saw a bunch of full growns at a LFS Sunday when I was dropping off some angels. Wow. But they were in with a Gourami who was bigger than all of them. Yikes.
Not sure if it was tattooed or not...I was fixated on the size of the damn thing. Looked like a submarine. I was at AP.
If it had weird pink spots on it, then it was tattooed. I've seen them there a few times over the last year or so. If you go to the zoo, in the Leid jungle, there's a tank full of giant gouramis sans tattooing. They're in with some Asian croc.

Was there again yesterday - it's tattood. They even labled the tank saying so. I'm sure due to the obvious age of the fish, they just took it in.
