Wow some harsh words there Mike. You will not go to any of these so called lfs to buy but you sure go there when they gladly allow us to have our meetings and allow us to sell our fish. And then to top it off they will purchse what sometimes we have left over. Think about that Brother.

Well that was the case. Until he tried ripping me off by about $800 dollars or so. That I have a problem with. I won't purchase anything there anymore. Since my dealings on that tank setup I decided to get somewhere else and then got ( Cool

more 75 gallon tanks and sent over friends to get 2 more 75 and a 210 gallon setup.

So Harsh words, sorry Ike, I disagree. When you try and screw someone like that it hurts more in the long run for sure. It's surely proven that already

I wouldn't trust somebody if they tried ripping me off like that either. Its like your car breaking down, you take it to a shop and they say you need a new transmission and you take it for a second opinion and all it was was a cable snapped. (kinda wierd example)

I'm still not going to have it put off me going there since i have never had a bad experience with it yet and they do seem to be a very nice store.

I see both sides of this argument. I'm downright scared of the quality/health of some of the lfs's here in the O. Especially since H&C left PWorld. Not the same. I have nothing against PC - and I think Too Many Feathers will do a good job as they get things going.

Since I mentioned PWorld - back in the day when the fish part was well managed - I DID regularly, routinely & loyally purchase much of my livestock & supplies from them. Many times even if it was more expensve. You have to keep the good people in business with continued business & loyalty.

I'm just not sure there's many quality places in town anymore. Kinda sad.

what does too many feathers have to do with anything? I don't think they sell fish.....do they?

Ike I completly understand profit. I'm in Retail sales for my full time job. Profit is a good thing and needed to have any business run and stay open. But in this case it has cost more business already and will cont. to do so. I sell autos. Folks won't let us make $800 dollars on a $35,000 car, but he wants to make $800 on a $1500 item. That's a bit extreme. I think it's better to have happy and returning customers and make a little money then try and hit a homerun on 1 sale and end up taking it in the shorts for for rest of the time

I agree with most of you as to the quality of livestock in omaha. I felt bad for the fish at charlies and petworld because over half the tanks looked dirty and the fish looked either deformed or extremely unhealthy. I prefer Aqua Pets and petland more, though the one time I was in paradise cove, it seemed really nice but expensive. They had a 3" flowerhorn for like $40. eek
I would much prefer getting my stock from local dealers, but unfortunately, I am unaware of how to go about it.

Nathan, you are at the first step; getting on the net and fish forums. This forum along with midwestcichlid.com will find you most fish you are after. Just post what you want.

Lets see...

1) Its a local pet shop so they have to do with this topic.
2) The do sell fish.

I don't have a favorite for livestock anymore. They all scare the hell out of me. I have nothing against PC - been there a few times & it seems nice...it's just too far away for me to really be a regular.

As far as supplies or equipment goes - If I have time I buy online. If I need something ASAP I'll go anywhere.

Used to be a die-hard Pet World fan but not since the Pattens left. So guess I'm a guy without a fish store.

Pointless me listing my favorite lfs as you lot are on the wrong side of the pond. mind you i dont mind paying that bit extra for a quality fish but i wont be ripped off by nobody no matter if its my favorite shop or not
