What would be a good # of Blue Rams to put in a 20L or a 20H?
Thanks

I would only put a pair of them in and probably expect one of them to beat up the other. I had 8 of them in a 65 with a handful of guppies as target fish, but still had a bunch of aggression and losses.

What was your male to female ratio?

I had four pairs to start with. Dominant males picked on submissives and the females too. Four were dead within three weeks, 2 males and 2 females. It was a expensive lesson for me. I had them shipped in from FL.

Just a quick follow-up. I had 5 of the small clay pots scattered on the bottom of the tank along with quite a few plastic plants and several large rocks too in order to give them all hidey holes. They are just very aggressive. It might just have been the ones I had, perhaps other folks have had different experiences.

That's scary. Would it be any better to just get 2 females?

I watch this happen everyday in the store. They are killers to eachother. They get stressed and then they get ick. Just do a pair with target fish. Small tetras is what I have always used.

I'm kinda re-thinking the Rams now. I wanted to have at least 4 but doesnt sound like that would be a good idea. Maybe a Lake Tang. tank?
