PostPost subject: Some New Discus Pics

Been snapping some new pics of the discus lately...plus I have two new additions. So here are a few pics. There are more in the Discus section.

This is my Leopard that spawned the other day...and I thought she was a he. Woops.

This is the Melon. Easily my prettiest adult-ish Discus.

Here is the very newest addition. A Malaysian Yellow. He still has juvenile coloring (less yellow than he will be) but I think he'll be gorgeous full grown. Probabaly about 3" tops right now.

And lastly - the second newest. My little experiment. Right now it's probably 2" and isn't colored up. He was sold to me as a solid red, but it's starting to look to me like he'll have a solid red body and a white face. He's pretty peppered in the face but I think he'll be cool fully red.

i thought maybe it had some signifagance. like horizontal stripes on a betta (means stress), or vertical stripes on a female betta (she's ready to spawn). something like that.

No significance. It's an undesireable trait in Discus. Someone who was interested in show Discus or who was a breeder probably wouldn't want that particular fish.

ah! thanks! so it's like red wash on a show betta--which is an undesirable trait.
