the fish in the first pic is commonly called a yellow tail cat (Phractocephalus hemiolopterus)(red tail cat) X (pseeudoplatystoma fasciatum) (tiger shovelnose cat) which was originaly breed as a food fish but has found its way into the hobby but thankfully wont get as big as the red tail cat (around 24")
and the second picture is a banjo cat (Bunocephalus coracoideus) which are very peacfull an reach a size of about 5" normaly they spend their time burried in the sand.

great looking cats. I once caught a baby channell cat in the river trying to get bait fish, put it in my tank, and it just kept growing. thats about the only cat other then synodontis i have ever kept. maybe when i stretch my arms to do some SA/CA setups I'll get something interesting like you have.

well i think they are worth i have a lot more catfish in my tanks than the two above but i have only got a camara phone at the moment so its not so easy to get very good pics
have you still got the channel cat ?

I know how you feel, i only have a camcorder which only the snapshot funtion works on it. make the best of what you have i guess.

the tank size is 6ft x 3ft x 2ft which is filltered by a 4ft sump tank with a 2ft trickle tower, and it is not the biggest fish in the tank bet your curious now aint ya
