Got a bunch of new plants to try out.

Left side

Back left - Ludwigia Inclinata var. 'Cuba'
Front left - Ammania Gracilis (one stalk)
Middle left - Ludwigia Glandulosa (two stalks)
Back right - Rotala Macrandra
Front Middle - Ludwigia sp 'Roganvorig'

Right side

pink - Ludwigia Inclinata

Some didn't like shipping very well hence the few stalks. The Ludwigia Inclinata var. 'Cuba' is growing very quickly. At this point I'm just letting it all grow out for a while. That big sword is going to have to go before it takes up half the tank. Going to move that crypt on the left forward and cut it into two smaller plants.

Then I need to try and hide the equipment. Replacing the HOB on the left with a powerhead. Since my heater decided to boil the fishies I am shopping arond for a new inline, probably going to go with Hydor.

Nice looking. What are you going to do with that Fluval upon replacement?

FYI: Rotala Macrandra is a very difficult plant to keep, especially if you are wanting it to become really bright red. So far, your plant placement looks good. Are you planning on CO2 for the tank? What kind of lighting do you have on the tank?

The Fluval stays.. the left side is a little aquaclear HOB I will use for my quarantine tank.

I'm doing 3 2-liters of CO2 right now which is keeping me around 25 ppm. I have a 96w light for now so we'll see what happens. I'm not expecting all the plants to grow at this level but I thought I'd give it a shot for a few of them.

Just plain gravel.. using root tabs for the Sword plus using the EI dosing method for the ferts.

gravel isn't the best choice for planted tanks. i use eco-complete in two of my planted tanks. the third tank that i have that is planted, i have gravel. i think the only reason that plant is doing anything is because it's considered a weed in most areas--which means it'll grow in anything. i had some rotala rotundifilia in there, but i had to move it back to my planted 30 gallon because it was falling apart.

if you don't want your Rotala Macrandra, i'll gladly take it off your hands. LOL

what size tank is this that you put the plants in? is it the 7 gallon?

Yeah, I will eventually swap out my gravel for the Eco Complete. It is 46 gallons. My wife is having enough fun with it I may give her this tank and do my own thing with something bigger

Here's a new picture before I trim. The Rotala Macrandra is actually growing quite nicely and I had to trim it already. The Ludwigia Inclinata is not doing well at all with very small pale leaves. I think the sword might be blocking some of the light. The Ludwigia Glandulosa will be moving into my shrimp tank because there isnt enough room in here for all those stem plants on the left.

The Ludwigia Inclinata var. 'Cuba' I have trimmed 3 times. It isn't getting any color though, I think my nitrates are too high for it. I have cut down my KNO3 dosing from 1/2 tsp to 1/8 tsp after adding another GBR and 12 small Endler's.

Jungle Val's grow at least an inch every day. I am confused with what I saw at Pet World the other day, they had "Jungle Vals" but they were very thin maybe 1/4" and bunched together, nothing like what I have.

You tank's coming along nicely.

At PW, they probably had Valisneria spiralis.
