I am new to the site. I have been keeping fish for most of my life. My largest tanks are 20 gallons. I have have several smallers tanks for fish that like to live alone. I have really enjoyed the site so far and can't wait to get to know people!

I have a 20 gallon community tank with guppies, neon tetras, dwarf frogs, ghost shrimp, and a female betta.
5 gallon mini bow with my favorite old blue betta in it
2.5 mini bow with a crown tailed betta
2.5 mini bow with a half moon betta
2.5 mini bow with cherry shrimp
5.5 gallon with a dwarf puffer
I keep ghost shrimp in all of my freshwater tanks to clean up extra food.
I also have a saltwater system that holds 27 gallons of water. The tank is 20 gallons. I have lots of inverts in it, 1 firefish goby, and 1 6 lined wrasse. I am planning on getting a pair of clown fish.

Welcome to the site Sarah! There's a fellow betta enthusiast and member annericebowl (ARB) who also loves her shrimp but not to steal her thunder! (aka, not get into too much trouble LOL). Anyway, I keep mostly non-african cichlid tanks and really dig the plecos. I did have to break down and set up one tangyanikan tank because of an outrageously good deal on a few dozen fish. There are good folks here on this site (yes, even including the clunk-meister! Evil or Very Mad ) Clunkster is our resident pleco/catfish expert. Mike Bovinet does the African cichlids (the bigger the better it seems for Mike--aka tons of Frontosa bruisers!) Gary (Melonhead) is our discus and angel enthusiast (although, I must admit I have leanings) ARB is, well, ARB! (heh, heh Twisted Evil ) just kidding, she's our shrimp and plants enthusiast (although I have leanings in the plants area too). Hope you have fun and eventually get to meet everyone.
all the best

And as I hit enter I thought, what of all the other fine folks on here?!?! Please forgive me. I wouldn't dream of hurting someone's feelings by an act of omission... so long story longer... sorry.

Welcome. I am into african cichlids, mainly malawis and tanganyikans. My favorites (and most of what I have) are Aul. sp. "lwanda" peacocks, and altolamprologus species, mainly calvus. I have a couple other small groups of africans as well.

One thing I would say is to be careful about adding a pair of clownfish. I wanted to do the same with my small saltwater setup and was warned against it. I was told that even different species will kill each other. I know some people have done it, but it was too expensive of a risk for me!

What kind of parrots? I love the African Greys intelligence, but the color and size of the blue and gold Macaws is awesome!

Glad to see you got your login straighetened out!

Welcome! As mpp said, I'm kind of a general freshwater guy - with heavy leanings toward south american cichlids. (Discus & angels) I'm currently breeding angels as well. Need a few hundred? Laughing

Glad you have you here!
